Still present after 24 years, Association Travelling, organiser of the Cherbourg-Octeville Festival of Irish and British film, give full support to our faithful partner the Odeon cinema for its upcoming event:
« Aperçu des Productions d’Outre Manche ».
During this event, 3 avant-premières, 2 classics and nine recent non-distributed British and Irish films will be shown from 10th to 25th March 2008 at the Odeon in Cherbourg. The programme starts with:
Opening ceremony on Monday 10th March at 8 p.m.
with BRICK LANE by Sarah Gavron
The other avant-premières presented are: My name is Hallam Foe, Crimes in Oxford
The classics: Lord of the Flies, Pink Floyd the wall
Recent films: Garage, Once, Jane, Intolerance, London to Brighton, A very British gangster, This is England, Nightwatching
Our young audience: Snails
In partnership with the Cherbourg library, a series of documentaries in original version will be shown on March 29th in the Paul Eluard room at 5 p.m., entrance free.
After so many years of hard work, the Association needs to take a break … so unfortunately there will be no festival this year. Following a few departures, we are also in need of some dynamic new volunteers!
We hope to be able to announce the return of the festival in 2009, so keep posted via our web site …
Between now and then, don’t forget to make the most of the films on offer at the Odeon, where art house films and those in original version are always on offer.
Thanks for your support,
