Aurélien Recoing : President of the Jury, French Actor

Aurélien Recoing started studying at the Cours Florent when he was 16, then at the the National Conservatory of Dramatic Art in Paris. This actor, fluent in English, first devoted himself to a stage career, and won the Prix Gérard Philippe in 1989.

He appeared in Les Baisers De Secours by Philippe Garrel which launched his cinema career. He starred in L'Emploi Du Temps by Laurent Cantet, a film which won the Lion of the Year prize in Venice and the Golden Wolf at the Montreal International Festival in 2001.

The last few years have been very rewarding : Insurrection / Resurrection by Pierre Merejkowsky, Nuit Noire 17 Octobre 1961 by Alain Tasma , Müetter by Dominique Lienhard, 13 Tzameti by Gela Babluani, Les Fragments D'Antonin by Gabriel Le Bonin, Pardonnez-moi by Maïwenn……

Brenda Blethyn : Co-Presidente of the Jury, English actress



After twenty years of hard work on stage and both television and stage, there are not many other actresses who deserved the success, recognition and stardom which Brenda Blethyn has now achieved.

Her career took off in the 90's with The Witches (N. Roeg-1990), and A River Runs Through It (R. Redford -1992). Her biggest year to date is 1997 with Secrets & Lies (M. Leigh) which received storming reviews and for which she won many awards and nominations (Best Actress Award at Cannes Film Festival).

Film roles then came thick and fast following Secrets & Lies : Little Voice (1998, M. Herman), Saving Grace (2000, N. Cole), Citizen Welles (B. Ross, 1999), Pride and Prejudice (J. Wright - 2005), and On a Clear Day (G.Dellal- 2005) starring Peter Mullan.

Bob Quinn - Irish writer

Born in Dublin in 1935, he became a television producer at the age of 27. After a successful career in Irish public broadcasting Bob Quinn opted in 1969 for “exile” in Connemara.

He has produced an impressive body of cinematic, literary and photographic work. In 1985 he was the first film maker to be elected member of Aosdána, the Irish Parliament of Artists and in 1995 he was appointed a member of the RTE Authority (Board of Governors).

In 2001 he was given a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Irish Film Institute.

Ira Trattner : American Producer



Prior to entering the film industry as a producer, Mr. Trattner served as a motion picture attorney for Warner Bros.

He produced the British comedy drama “Two Men Went to War” and is currently developing “Trinity”, based on Leon Uris’s best-selling novel of Ireland, with the Irish director Jim Sheridan. He has developed feature film projects with such noted directors as Wes Craven, Roland Joffe and Carl Reiner.

Ira Trattner Productions has relocated to London,from Los Angeles, California and is actively involved in developing and producing both studio and independent films. The epic love story “On Earth” has been developed in association with Jerry Bruckheimer Films.

Mickaël Ollivier - Writer, Screen writer

At the age of 15, in the darkened room of his favourite movie theatre, Mikaël Ollivier had a revelation: at the end of an Alfred Hitchcock cycle, he claimed: this is what I want to do when I grow up.

But what exactly was this? He’s still not sure.
Passionately fond of the cinema, he also became an avid reader and when he was 25, decided to start writing.


Novels, short stories, scripts for TV and the cinema, Mikaël Ollivier considers himself as a « story-teller », the this that he wanted to do.

Thaddeus O'Sullivan : Irish Director

Thaddeus O'Sullivan

Thaddeus O'Sullivan worked first as a cinematographer, and he made his feature directorial debut with 1990's December Bride.

He followed December Bride with Nothing Personal five years later and produced one of the most brutal accounts of sectarian violence in Northern Ireland : a searing, uncompromising drama that centered on the personal side of the troubles, rather than the political.

Nothing Personnal won the Audience Award at the Cherbourg Film Festival in 1996. His next film, Ordinary Decent Criminal, starred Kevin Spacey as a modern-day Dublin gangster. On stage O'Sullivan has directed 'A Country in Our Heads' at the Andrews Lane Theatre, Dublin. He has also directed a number of commercials and documentaries.

Viviane Moore - Writer

Viviane Moore

Daughter of an architect and a glass-blower, born in Hong Kong, Viviane Moore became a photographer when she was 19, then a free-lance journalist before devoting herself to full-time writing.

She has written many thrillers that have been translated into English and Italian.

Pauline McLynn - Writer

Pauline McLynn

Pauline McLynn was winner of Best Comedy Actress on British TV in 1996 for her role as Mrs. Doyle in the BAFTA award winning comedy series Father Ted for Channel 4. .


Her film credits include: Iris directed by Richard Eyre, Angela's Ashes directed by Alan Parker, Black Day At Black Rock directed by Gerry Stembridge for RTE , The Most Fertile Man in Irelanddirected by Dudi Appleton, An Everlasting Piece directed by Barry Levinson and When Brendan met Trudy directed by Kieron J. Walsh.


Pauline recently appeared as Dettie in Heidi, directed by Paul Marcus for Piccadilly Pictures/Warner Brothers, and the leading role of Helen in Gypo, the first Dogme licensed film made in the U.K. directed by Jann Dunn.


Multitalented she has written four best-selling novels, prominent radio and stage careers not to mention huge television acclaim.
