     48 Angels

    Synopsis

One of our three protagonists, 9 year old Seamus, needs a miracle. Diagnosed with a terminal disease, he sets off to find God before God comes for him, thus giving him a little more time to obtain a cure. Inspired by Saint Columcille, Seamus sets out on a lake in a small boat without oars or a sail. On his quest he encounters James, 14, a traumatized adolescent and Darry mid thirties, a Protestant hard liner who is finding it difficult to come to terms with the new political thinking ion Northern Ireland. For reason of necessity and in spite of frictions and inherited animosities, the trio decide to stay together and enter upon a journey that results in the painful excavating and eventual healing of hearts and minds.
